The application process for this marketing role was terrible. They made me do two assessments before even getting to an interview stage. The first was a personality test, and the second was a timed competency assessment. I felt like I was doing dumb, irrelevant questions in high school. For a senior marketing job, they expected me to solve abstract math problems without a calculator. I finished them and then got completely ghosted. No response, not even a rejection email after a month of follow-up. It's unprofessional to put candidates through that and then just disappear.

The whole thing took months and wasn't great. Since PSC is a consulting firm, getting hired really depends on how quick and organized their client is. This client company, which works with software and biotech/pharma, has a pretty bad way of doing things, and that's what caused the hiring delay. But yeah, there were the usual 3 interviews: a phone screen, then one with PSC, and finally one with the client.

I received an email inviting me to a MS Teams meeting for the next day. The recruiter mentioned they couldn't use their camera and asked me to turn mine off too. It turned out they were recruiting for MSD, which explained why I couldn't find an address for them in Carlow. The agent was really nice, helpful, and provided a lot of information. Like others mentioned, they had an accent but were easy to understand. They mainly went through my CV, asking general questions about my career history and future aspirations. I didn't move forward because another recruitment agency had already submitted my application for this specific role, and I only found out which company it was for towards the end of the call.

The interview process was really disorganized, with lots of cancellations and reschedulings, sometimes just a few hours before. I had to reach out a couple of times to make sure they were still interested. One cancellation was my fault, but they still canceled/rescheduled three times. When we finally could meet, it was a big team interview with people from different departments, some from out of state. It felt like I was interviewing for a management role. Since it's a startup, I get that things might be a bit rough, but the whole operation seemed unstable and the employees looked overworked. The people were nice and asked good questions during the interview. After the virtual interview, they invited me for an in-person final interview to discuss the multi-position job offer. Being a startup, they wanted me to do technical work, business development, and project management. I got a tour of the place with someone who I think would be my boss, and then they asked me to email them about the jobs I'd be interested in. I sent the email and heard nothing back. After all that scheduling hassle, the on-site interview with the director, the tour, meeting everyone, and sending my email about wanting the multi-faceted position, they completely ghosted me. I followed up about two weeks later, and still no reply. I later found out through a contact that it's a chaotic place, and other professionals have confirmed this too.
