Senior Front End Developer
I applied online. About two weeks later, a recruiter called me and we had a brief chat. Following that, I had a phone screen with the team lead. He was friendly and invited me for an in-person interview. At the office, I went through four interviews. I met with the recruiter again, then with a recent university graduate, and then with the team lead again. He mentioned that if it were up to him, he'd hire me immediately, but everyone needed to agree. Next, I met an experienced employee who's been with the company for a while. After these interviews, the recruiter assured me they move quickly and she'd be in touch soon. I received an email the next day confirming everyone agreed and they wanted to proceed. She mentioned one final step: a short call with a VP, which she described as just a formality. She scheduled and then cancelled a meeting, and then scheduled and cancelled two more. She explained she couldn't set up another meeting due to the VP's schedule and would figure it out later. Unexpectedly, the VP called me, apparently unaware of the meeting cancellations. We had a pleasant conversation. He asked if I had questions, and I said I'd email the recruiter if any came up. He invited me to email him directly and gave me his contact info. I updated the recruiter about the VP's call. No response. I didn't hear back for a month. I then emailed the VP for an update. Two weeks later, I got a generic email stating they'd moved forward with another candidate. I later saw the same job ad on LinkedIn.

Marketing Manager
The whole interview process spanned two months. It started with me being contacted and then interviewing with the hiring manager. After that, there was a period of silence. Eventually, I received a call, they apologized for the delay, and arranged for onsite interviews. These onsite interviews went really well, as confirmed by HR. Following that, I had two phone interviews with remote team members and another phone interview with the hiring manager. That same week, after completing those interviews, I was asked to quickly finalize the paperwork again and provide references and my salary expectations. The HR Manager indicated I'd hear back early the following week. But then... nothing. I waited another week and sent an email to the HR Manager, but received no response at all. An email to let me know the outcome would have been courteous, and not to rush the paperwork if they had already chosen someone else. It felt very disorganized, and I suspect internal miscommunication was the issue. Overall, it was not a positive experience.

Program Manager
I was first reached out to by phone for a quick pre-screening. Then, the talent acquisition manager emailed me. They scheduled one-on-one meetings with the VP of Engineering and the Office Manager for the next week, which was handled efficiently. The Office Manager handled the HR aspects, asking standard HR questions, which I didn't expect given the title. The company culture is described as very work-focused, not particularly social. Although well-funded, they are prudent with finances. The CEO is noted as a charismatic leader. Both interviewers were very pleasant and professional. Despite their professionalism, I was surprised by the complete lack of follow-up; my post-interview emails and calls went unanswered. Typically, good companies inform candidates when they aren't a fit.
- How do you plan to communicate to the CEO information that they might not want to hear?
- In your opinion, what is the hardest part of this job?
Sales Manager
First, there was a phone interview. After that, I had to go to the office for a sales pitch test where I was given information about shows and had to learn them and then sell them back to the interviewers, developing a sales pitch in a short amount of time.
- Can you tell me about your previous sales experience?
- What number of sales have you closed?
- Have you met your Return on Investment targets?
