First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PROVAIL.
Employment Consultant
The first interview is a phone call where they ask basic questions and check your community engagement and experience working with individuals with disabilities. It's pretty straightforward. After that, you'll have a second interview with the manager where you basically need to tie your personal experience to what they're looking for, which is someone capable of working with different types of individuals with varying needs.

- How does your personal experience make you a good fit for this role?
Employment Consultant
I met with the regional manager first, and she asked me a bunch of questions. Then, I shadowed someone who works in the field. They do this to see if it's a good fit for me. After that, I met with the director. Finally, I got a job offer.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this position?
Employment Consultant
The interview process felt pretty formal and structured. They had a set list of questions they went through, and it seemed like all the interviewers had the same list. There were usually about three or four people interviewing me at once.
- Describe a time you had to deal with a challenging client.
Employment Consultant
I got a surprise call for a quick phone chat, not scheduled, they just rang me. At the end of that call, I was invited for a formal interview. Two people were supposed to interview me but were late. Honestly, the interview experience didn't make me want the job, and the interviewers didn't seem fully professional.
- How do you maintain composure under pressure?
- What are your strategies for communicating with individuals who are hard to understand?
