EMT-B
Applied online and got a call about 15 hours before the interview to come in. I assumed the interview would be in Modesto where I applied, but it was in Richmond, which took 4 hours to get to. The interview included a written test, basic assessment questions, and then a two-person interview. If a job offer was extended, candidates then had to pass background and drug testing. A physical test is also done at the same time as the drug test, which is in San Jose. This physical test is considered a joke and not accurate for real-life situations. The final weight requirement is meant to simulate carrying a 300-pound person with another person, which is not advised. If you pass that, you have to drive to Cotati. In total, I drove 22 hours just to get hired, which is completely insane.

Emergency Medical Technician
After I applied online for the EMT position, I got a call from the recruiter a couple days later. The recruiter's callback number went to a general voicemail, which was weird. When I finally spoke to her, she seemed unwelcoming and kinda rude, and not enthusiastic about the company. I agreed to go in for an interview to learn more. When I asked how to prepare, she said 'there's nothing; just show up.' I was surprised to have to take a written test and then get interrogated about patient assessment by two interviewers. I wish she'd been more upfront when I asked about preparing, unlike other companies. I was comparing company cultures and offerings. The employees at ProTransport-1 seemed unhappy. The only thing drawing me in was the 'flexible scheduling' they advertised, which turned out to be false. They advertised 4, 6, and 8-hour shifts, but that wasn't true at all. Based on the interview, I knew this wasn't the place for me, the environment didn't seem positive. I think there are better ambulance companies that foster camaraderie.
- Tell me about a time you handled a difficult situation and how you got through it.
Accounts Receivable Specialist
I initially spoke with Hannah, a recruiter, at a job fair. I mentioned my medical assistant degree but my lack of experience. She encouraged me to apply online, which I did. After about two days, the recruiter called me. The fair was on a Thursday, and I heard back the following Monday or Tuesday. I had an interview that same Thursday. The following Monday, I was informed I got the job. The company covered a physical and drug test, and they provided the locations for these.

EMT-Basic
So we started out with about 30 people all together in a group interview. The first part was a written test, it was 5 pages long and covered basic EMT stuff. If you've passed the NAT REG, you'll probably find it pretty easy. After that, we moved on to the assessment part. They wanted us to go through a basic assessment and explain the procedures that are part of it. Lastly, there was a formal interview where they asked about our personality and our reasons for wanting to work for Pro Transport. The whole thing took about 3 hours.
- Can you share an instance of a conflict or disagreement you had with a former employer and how you managed to resolve it?
