The interview process was pretty standard with several rounds. My main issue was with the recruiter; they were unreliable, missing meetings, reaching out unexpectedly after a long time, and promising follow-ups that never happened. I initially hesitated on a big assignment because it was too much and not paid, but they really pushed me to do it, calling me a top candidate. I thought my strategic approach in the assignment was the highlight, but they said I lacked execution focus, which didn't make sense. The team seemed to agree I met the criteria based on their feedback, but it still wasn't enough. It was a confusing experience and left a bad impression, especially since it matches other reviews. The Head of PMM seems great though!

I applied and about two weeks later, I had my first interview with HR. The week after that, I had a second interview with the Hiring Manager. Then, I was ghosted. It's now Day 51 since that second interview with no update at all. The HR person handling my process was laid off within a week of my second interview, which I found out about on LinkedIn. Apparently, there was a huge layoff. I contacted the Hiring Manager, who assured me the job was still open and that someone from Talent Acquisition would contact me. I followed up with the Hiring Manager again two weeks later, and they said it had been hectic and they were still evaluating other candidates. I waited, and sent two more emails to the Careers page email address. No response. At this point, it's safe to say I wasn't chosen. I would have appreciated any kind of response from Proton. Being ghosted after applying is common, but being ghosted after a second interview? Not cool.
