Research Associate
The hiring manager conducted the interview directly, skipping any initial recruiter contact. The manager seemed unimpressed with my background. They asked some questions that involved disclosing sensitive details. The compensation offered is too low for this level of work, and I doubt they'll find a suitable candidate.
- I don't recall the exact questions asked.
- Could you share confidential details from past projects?
- Is the salary offered acceptable for this position?
Marketing
I had a typical phone screen, then an in-person interview with multiple people. They asked common questions, plus some specific to the role. Unfortunately, they ghosted me after months of silence. I followed up, and they kept saying they needed more time to interview others, which usually means they aren't interested but should have just been honest. It's been months since I last heard from them, which is disrespectful considering the time I took off for the 3+ hour in-person interview.
- Could you introduce yourself?
Applications Scientist
I had a phone interview, then an onsite interview that lasted 45 minutes with two team members and the hiring manager. After that, I had another interview with the hiring manager's supervisor. The hiring manager's boss mentioned there would be one more phone interview, but then they stopped the hiring process. This seemed like a really inefficient process, requiring multiple days for me. They could have easily scheduled a few rounds in one day to speed things up.
- What makes you want to be an Applications Scientist rather than another type of bench scientist?
Product Specialist
I had a few phone screening interviews with managers and other people. It was a pretty straightforward interview process with no curveballs or tricky tests. They mainly asked about my understanding of the role and my background in the life science industry.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What do you know about this product specialist position?
- What experience do you have in the life science industry?
