First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Protect America.
Sales Representative
The interview process was pretty straightforward and the people I talked to were nice. It wrapped up within a couple of weeks. It started with a phone call and then I had an in-person meeting.
- Can you tell me about your biggest strengths?
Call Center Manager
I was contacted about a Call Center Manager position and initially interviewed with a Senior Leader. Right before that meeting, I had to take a typing test at the front desk. The interview with the Senior Leader went fine; he asked standard questions from a worksheet, was welcoming, and explained the job's demands. He gave me a tour and talked about different departments. I asked him if he had any concerns about my qualifications, and he said no. He said I'd hear back next week about next steps. I heard back that same week and scheduled an interview with the VP of Operations. When I arrived, I was told I'd meet the VP and a Manager who would be my peer. This interview also went well, with standard questions. I also met with a Team Lead who would report to me. The VP told me a decision would be made by the following Friday. The next Friday, at 5:30 pm, I was told no decision had been made yet and that the chosen candidate would be contacted the following Monday. On that Monday, at 6 pm, I was told it would take another day for a decision and that I was a top candidate. Tuesday, I was told it would be one more day. Wednesday and Thursday passed with no contact. Each call was from the receptionist/recruiter. On Friday, I went to the office and gave a letter to the VP of Operations withdrawing my application because of the recruiting process. I haven't heard anything else from Protect America. I feel like I should have at least received an email acknowledging my experience.
- Were there any issues regarding my ability to do the job?
- What questions did you ask?
Customer Service Representative
The hiring process was pretty easy. After a quick phone chat, I was called in. When I got there, they sat me at a computer for some tests on grammar, typing, and spelling. Honestly, the tests were super easy and didn't take more than 30 minutes total. Then, I was brought back for an interview with two interviewers. They were nice, talked a lot, and answered all my questions, making me feel pretty comfortable. Towards the end, they mentioned a different role that was actually a sales position, and I ended up taking that job instead.
- What are your goals for the next 5 years and 1 year?
Digital Media Marketing
I found this job on Craigslist. After I sent in my info and resume, the VP of Marketing sent me an email pretty quickly. We set up an interview for the next afternoon. I met with two people from the marketing team and they asked me some general questions. I had brought some examples of my past work to show them. This was on a Friday, and then on Monday I got an email and a call saying I got the job. They were really professional and even let me work with them for two weeks while I was leaving my old job.
- What would you bring to our team?
