I had my resume reviewed and was then asked to come back for a 1-week training. They said the training would be paid and from 10 am to 4 pm daily. A hiring decision would be made after the training. During the training, at 12 pm, I was told this was the second part of the interview. They were interviewing 5 applicants and would call with a decision on Friday. They had me working and calling prospective clients. I asked the Owner's wife why she wasn't upfront with me. They had me in a room making calls like a telemarketer, and it turned out to be a regular admissions cold calling position, which I'm not interested in. I wouldn't have done that for two hours for free, scheduling three of their prospective students. She agreed to pay me, but it was $12 short of the agreed salary. She then said the decision wasn't made yet and asked me to finish the calls so she could decide whether to hire me. After one call, I realized she just wanted me to work longer to recoup the $20 she paid me. I told her I wasn't interested because it wasn't the position I applied for.

It was a small interview with just the campus leads, who asked me detailed questions about my leadership skills. They wanted to interview me because of my work background. It felt short, but I liked that they got straight to the point. The campus director is lovely.

Behavioral

The interview process was a mess; nobody seemed to know what they were doing. The CEO was really rude and dismissive, like he didn't have time for me. He also made some pretty racist and derogatory comments about his staff and students. It was just a bizarre and disturbing experience overall.

I went in and the receptionist directed me to another room where I had to complete an application and take a basic Excel test. I didn't do great on the test since I misread a section that affected the whole thing. After I was done, a guy came to get me from the waiting room. He didn't introduce himself and asked about the test. He pointed out my mistake and I explained it was a miscommunication. He then had me add numbers and made me feel bad about it even after I explained it was a small miscommunication. He then started asking why I was at other jobs for short periods. He didn't discuss the position or how my skills matched. He then left and said he had to find someone else to interview me. I waited about 10 minutes and a woman came and finished the interview. She asked some of the same questions the guy asked, then finished the interview. It was all very unorganized and I wish they had planned the interview better. Also, the guy didn't need to be so rude when explaining the questions.
