Senior Scientist
I found the job online and the hiring manager contacted me to set up a chat with a recruiter. It was a really weird 30-minute call where the recruiter just spent the entire time trying to find reasons why I wouldn't be a good fit, which was odd since they reached out to me. It was also unprofessional that the recruiter promised an update within a week but never followed up.
- Given that you are not a senior scientist, why do you claim to be one?
Scientist
The interview process had 5 people interviewing me one-on-one, and I also had to do a presentation. It seemed to go really well, but they were really hesitant to tell me the outcome. I pushed them with a bunch of emails and was super disappointed when they finally replied with a rejection. I really didn't like how they handled my candidacy; felt like a waste of my time and they weren't responsible.
- Can you tell me about your general background?
- Could you go over your previous work experience?
Scientist
The interview process went very fast. They offered me the full-time position 1 week after the on-site interview. The interview included 30-min face-to-face interviews with 6 senior employees and a 30-min presentation and a 1-hr lunch in between. I liked their work culture and employees' attitudes very much.
- Tell me about conditional probability.
- Can you explain Cauchy distributions?
- What are Exponential distributions?
