I applied on the Boston Logic website and heard back from their recruiter by email. First, I had a phone call with the recruiter. Then, about a week later, I had another phone interview, this time with the sales manager. The next week, I went into the office for an hour-long meeting with the sales manager. A few days after that, I came back in for a shorter meeting with the President.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

My interview with Boston Logic began with a phone call from HR. She was nice and asked good questions about the job and what they were looking for. We also talked about the company vibe. Then, I had an onsite interview with the sales head. They took me to lunch, and during the meal, I was asked about my sales background and how I handle different sales situations. We even did some role-playing for various sales scenarios. We also chatted about hobbies. The last step was meeting the CEO and founder. We discussed my previous work experiences and sales dealings. I was asked about my sales process and my past performance metrics compared to my goals. We ended with some Q&A. Overall, it felt like a pretty standard interview process, but they were serious and professional. I think they properly assessed me for the job, and I got to ask my questions about the role and company from different viewpoints.

Behavioral

I talked to a recruiter who asked some questions that made me uncomfortable. They wanted to know if I lived in Boulder, where the job was, and how long my commute would be, which I don't think is appropriate for an interview. The recruiter also asked if I was okay with a salary offer that was below market rate to move forward. I emailed back politely declining, and the recruiter didn't respond. I thought it would have been polite to at least thank me for my time and wish me luck, like I did in my email, but they never did. It felt unprofessional and made me think the company is impersonal and doesn't value people.

Behavioral Other

I got an email followed by a phone call from HR. The HR person was unprofessional and seemed offended when I asked about the merger and her tenure. I was trying to gauge if she was with the old Boston Logic or the newer Propertybase, as that would inform the feedback I could get about the company post-merger. She hung up and never called back, which is unprofessional. There were also phone connection issues. The new company owners should be aware of how their company is being presented to qualified candidates.
