Proper Cloth Interview Questions
& Process

I met with the owner. They asked me about my background, education, and why I thought I was a good fit for the Customer Experience Associate role at Proper Cloth and how I could contribute to the team. They also asked me a couple of situational questions about potential job scenarios.

I applied online through their website after seeing a posting on LinkedIn. I was surprised when less than a week later I received an email asking me to come in and interview. My current manager gave me a short tour of our office/showroom in Soho and asked me a lot of behavioral/situational questions, taking time to thoroughly reference my resume while also giving me the opportunity to share how I want to learn from this position. Less than a week later the HR representative reached out to me with an offer letter. A great interview process through and through.

The hiring process was very friendly and quick, with prompt communication and understanding when I needed to reschedule. I was surprised to interview with the CEO in the first round, but they were approachable. We had an insightful discussion about the company, the market, and e-commerce. Initially, we talked for about 45 minutes about my background and resume. Then, there was a technical problem that required an Excel formula, which I hadn't encountered before. I managed to solve it by using Python as an alternative. Unfortunately, they gave me a rejection, stating it was due to a lack of domain experience, even though my resume seemed to indicate this. It's unclear why I was invited to interview in the first place. Despite the straightforward and friendly initial process, I'm disappointed with the outcome and unsure if failing to solve the unexpected Excel challenge was the sole reason.

The interview process was extremely poor and unorganized. It started with a phone call with the founder. After 30 minutes of reviewing my resume, the founder stated that I wasn't a fit for the role because my experience didn't align with the company's missions. This screening should have happened earlier to avoid wasting my time. The founder asked random questions with awkward pauses.
