First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Propel Marketing.
Front End Developer
This is about ThriveHive, now owned by Propel Marketing. I had a phone screen first. Then I went in for what I thought was a meeting but turned out to be a full interview. I spoke with a senior backend developer, a product manager, and a co-founder for about 45 minutes each. The developer and PM asked me technical questions. Afterwards, I did a screen-shared coding exercise with a developer where I had to build a todo list app in knockout.js. I had about 3 hours for this, could use online docs, and the developer helped me out.

- What is the purpose of the $(function(){ }) construct in JavaScript?
- Solve the Fizzbuzz problem.
Manager
I applied through an employee referral and was contacted by the hiring manager, not HR, for a phone interview. I sent my availability, and after a few days with no response, I followed up. I got an apology and a confirmation for the interview, which I thought went well. They said I'd 'definitely hear back by the end of next week,' but it's been two weeks and two follow-up emails with no reply. I liked the job, company, and location, but I'm hesitant to join a team led by someone unresponsive.
- What makes you want to leave your current job?
Sales Support Representative
I spoke with three different people from the company. It felt a bit disorganized, and the second person didn't seem to know why they were meeting me or anything about my background. They were nice, though. They kept talking about "Beer Friday's", which I thought was a little unprofessional, and mentioned they were a "younger demographic" even though I saw a lot of middle-aged folks around.
- How would you handle confronting someone about a work-related issue?
Sales Intern
The interview was pretty simple, with questions about marketing and my industry experience. The person interviewing me was really professional and made the interview feel good. It was about 30 to 45 minutes long for the internship.
- What's your take on the importance of digital marketing?
