It started with the standard email and phone screening. Then there was a half day on-site interview. The on-site was pretty casual and they didn't do a technical presentation, which is a bit unusual for a PhD level scientist role in biotech or pharma. There were multiple rounds of interviews with different people in each round. The questions were a mix of technical and behavioral. Honestly, I felt like they didn't really focus on my specific lab background in the sciences, and the way they interviewed wasn't really effective for attracting top talent. The interviewer mentioned a lot of internal politics, so I decided not to move forward after the interview.

The interview process involved multiple stages. Initially, there were two phone interviews, followed by two in-person meetings. A significant aspect was how well you connected with the hiring manager. Typical interview questions were asked throughout. The first face-to-face interview specifically included behavioral questions, so it's important to have relevant examples ready.

I had a phone screening with a few interviewers that lasted about 40 minutes. It felt pretty standard and they asked questions directly from the job description, focusing on why I'd be a good fit. Then, a month later, I went in for an in-person interview. I met with six different people from various departments, and each session was 30 minutes. They let me know their decision two weeks after that.

The interview process could have been organized more effectively. It felt unnecessarily long, as I discussed similar topics with multiple interviewers at different points. Some rounds could have been consolidated to save everyone time.
