& Process

I talked with HR and the hiring manager a few times. Then I had an in-person interview. It seemed to go well. They said they'd let me know about next steps, but then I didn't hear anything for almost 3 weeks, not even an email response. I wish they'd just sent a quick message saying they weren't moving forward.

So the interview process was basically in three parts. First, there was a written test with sections on quantitative ability, verbal ability, and programming (covering C, C++, HTML, CSS, and JAVA) all in an objective format. After that, we had a technical round where they asked about C basics, my projects, general programming, core subject knowledge, logical thinking, and some general questions. Finally, there was an HR round.

The whole thing was a bit of a mess. It started with a multiple-choice test on C# and .Net, followed by a one-on-one interview. When I got there, I had to take the test and just guess if I didn't know the answer. The exam was mostly about MVC, which I wasn't familiar with, so I only managed to answer about 9 questions on SQL and had to guess the rest. It would have been great to know this when I got the initial phone call, as it probably would have saved us both time. The actual interview was really brief and didn't offer much information. The vibe was super tense, and I felt really unwelcome. Considering it was during a pandemic, I expected some serious safety measures, like masks. But nobody, including the interviewer, was wearing one. He was also way too close, less than 6 feet, and still no mask. This made me really uncomfortable, so I politely said I'd keep mine on and apologized. I thought he'd understand the awkward situation he put me in, but he didn't. Plus, no work-from-home option. Seriously, don't waste your time on a place that doesn't seem to care about your health and safety. It's a health hazard and potentially illegal. Don't take the risk.

The interview process was pretty flexible and used ZOOM. It was informative, with both HR and technical interviews. It felt relaxed and open, not pressured, and friendly yet professional. It started with a phone interview, then moved to an in-person interview at HQ where a skill set test was done.
