I was told I was coming in for an interview, but the initial phone contact was actually the screening. Then, when I arrived for the "interview," I was told it was just a screening and they were picking a few candidates for the real interview, which is 2 hours long. A lot of people were waiting at the same time, so it seemed like they try to get as many people as possible to cherry-pick from. My interviewer didn't let me ask any questions and seemed to have made up his mind already. He knew I wouldn't take a job like standing at Wal-Mart haggling people to sign up for Direct TV, given my 8 years of experience as a director. They said there were management opportunities, but I felt misled.

I applied for this job through Careerbuilder. The receptionist and the person I interviewed with were both friendly. The interview was mostly an explanation of the position, which sounded like a sales role to me. The job involves going to different locations and meeting with customers and potential customers. They mentioned they were looking to promote internally within a few months to a managerial role.
