Resident Manager
The interview process took a really long time, and the background check felt like forever. I almost took another offer because of the delay. There were a few Zoom calls that were pretty standard job interviews. The work-from-home culture seemed appealing and was a big reason I was interested.

Affordable Housing Coordinator
I applied on April 18th and got a call from the recruiter on April 24th for a phone interview the next day, April 25th. It was a nice chat where she told me more about the job, and I talked about my affordable housing background. Right after, she set up a Zoom interview with my potential boss for April 26th. That one was also pleasant and lasted about an hour. Later that day, the recruiter texted asking if I could do a third interview with an executive on April 30th. I said yes, but since I didn't get a confirmation text back, I sent another one on April 29th. Within 30 minutes, I got a Zoom invite for the April 30th interview. The final interview with the executive went well. I asked about next steps and was told I might need to meet another person. Around this time, I was thinking about another job offer I might get, but still wanted to be available for this one. I thought the third interview was the last one, but then on May 1st, I got a text to meet with the regional/fund manager. This person asked about performance metrics from my old job, and I gave them two examples. The overall experience was professional, but it went downhill after that. I texted the recruiter on May 1st about how nice it was talking to the regional director and to hear back soon. No response. I also emailed the recruiter and hiring manager on May 2nd about my fourth interview, saying this role was a priority and I'd be a good fit. Still no reply via email either. I kept checking my messages until May 3rd with no word back, which was really disappointing and discouraging. I was always prompt, friendly, and professional. Not getting a response within 48 hours, even if I didn't get the job, felt bad. Candidates put in a lot of time too. I think if you have 4-5 rounds, do a panel interview. Also, respond to candidates within 3 business days about their status to keep the process integrity. I made myself available and then was just left in the dark.
- What were the key performance metrics that your prior executive team used to monitor you?
Analyst
Recruiter reached out and we had a call. We talked about my background and experience. She said the company is growing and needs someone with my skills. I explained why I want to leave my current job and why I'm interested in Progress Residential. She asked if I had questions, and I didn't really have many because I understood the role and company. Then she said she would schedule a Zoom call with the hiring manager. A few hours later, I got a rejection email, which was confusing. I would have preferred a direct rejection rather than this. It seemed unprofessional, and even if the company is good, this recruiter left a bad impression.

Legal Assistant
I went through a few weeks of interviews. I met with the attorneys and was expecting an offer. This morning, the recruiter called and said they wanted to offer me the job, but then the CEO decided to move all positions back to the AZ office. Four interviews and a lot of wasted time because the CEO is disorganized. I'm so glad I didn't reject the other offer I got from a different company, which seems to have its act together. Very disappointed. I really liked the staff I met and was excited to work with them. It makes no sense why a company doing well with remote workers would suddenly switch to in-office! Guess I avoided a bad situation.
