First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ProfitWell.
Software Engineer
The interview had two parts. The first was to meet someone from the team and get to know each other, talk about experience, studies, etc., plus some general programming language knowledge questions. Then, there were questions, but it was about solving a problem (without coding) with that person. It was to see how you think, how you communicate, what steps you'd take, etc. After that, a second, more technical interview is arranged, and they are quite flexible with the date.
- Can you explain in your own words when and why you would use an object-oriented programming language?
Client Engagement Manager
I had a really good experience with this interview process, it was pretty quick too, only about two weeks from when I first talked to the recruiter until I got the offer. Started with the recruiter to talk about the job, then had a phone chat with someone from the team where we did a short behavioral thing. After that, it was the "onsite" interviews (all on Zoom because of COVID), which involved giving a presentation on a challenge they gave me and then having one-on-one chats with a few other people on the team. Finally, I met with the CEO for the last interview.
- Could you recommend a pricing strategy for a company based on the provided data?
- How would you approach handling a specific client situation like the one described?

Got contacted for a 30 minute phone screen, it went well. Interviewer mentioned they were probably looking for someone more experienced but it was understandable if the candidate was close enough. They said they'd follow-up and give feedback to everyone. I followed-up but never heard back. I was excited about ProfitWell before, but after my experience and reading others', I think I dodged a bullet. CEO has a cool story, industry is interesting, but red flags everywhere. Think very carefully before investing serious time in this process.
- Can you start by telling me about yourself?
Office Manager
I applied online and got an email to schedule a phone interview. I was nervous but it went okay. We both asked a lot of questions and I got a good overall view of what the company was about/looking for. However, I was told I would be contacted by Friday. This was on a Wednesday. Friday came and went and I sent an email inquiring about my status and was completely ignored. I found that to be very unprofessional. They could not even send me a "sorry but we decided you are not a match..." email.
- Can you tell me about your experience with project management?
- What is your experience with event planning?
