First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Professional Data Analysts.
Software Engineer
I had a meeting with a senior technical lead. They first had me introduce myself. Then, they asked some behavioral questions, followed by two general technical questions. I think if I had gotten past that, there would have been two more interviews: one with other team members and then one with a higher-up executive.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What are your strengths?
- Are you stronger in backend or frontend?
Data Analyst
So the whole thing started with like a quick call with HR, then I had to do this technical test thingy, you know, with SQL and Excel. After that, I had two video calls, one with someone from the data team and then the actual hiring manager. We talked about business stuff, how I'd clean data, and how to explain findings.
- Could you describe your method for handling a dataset that contains missing data points and unusual values?
- Explain your process for cleaning a dataset with missing values and outliers.
- How would you tackle the task of cleaning a dataset that has missing values and outliers?
Data Analyst Intern
I didn't really have a formal interview process. They picked me directly from my resume, my grades, and the classes I took. It was simple and they let me know things quickly.

Data Analyst
The interview process had 3 rounds in total. There were two technical rounds and one HR round. The first round covered basic ML concepts, a discussion about my projects, and a DSA question about rotating a matrix by 90 degrees. The second round involved questions on probability, ML projects, DSA, and mental aptitude. The final HR round consisted of basic questions.
- Could you rotate the matrix by 90 degrees?
