Product Designer
Recruiter screened me, brought me into the office where I met their CEO. It was overall great and incredibly transparent if not a bit vague. They offered me the job that day and told me to expect an official offer in a few days. They suspiciously took way too long to get back to me so I reached out to the recruiter and she told me they rescinded the offer, will be instead be moving the role to HQ where they’ve restarted the hiring process, and were meaning to tell me the news but never got around to it.
- Could you describe your process for collaborating with others, and what communication tools you typically use?
Product Designer
The interview process included an initial call with the recruiter, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Next, there was a portfolio presentation, and the process concluded with an interview with a product manager and engineers. I appreciated their clear communication, quick responses within 24 hours, and overall professionalism.
- Can you describe a typical week for you?
- Which products do you find most appealing?
- What positive and negative attributes do you think your manager would identify?
Product Designer
We started with a quick chat with the recruiter, then I talked to the hiring manager. After that, I presented two case studies to the design team. Next, I interviewed with a PM and the tech lead. Finally, they made an offer.
- What is empathy in your work?
- Describe a situation where things didn't go as planned and how you managed it.
- At what point in your design process do you bring in engineering?
