Data Scientist
First, there was a phone screen where they asked about my resume and past experiences, and also some casual questions like if I like sports. Then, I interviewed with the head of data science. They asked some technical questions about Python and SQL, but not too deep. After that, I got a take-home test which was a sports analytics project using Python and SQL. Finally, I talked with one of the data scientists on the team. This interview was pretty similar to the one with the Head of Data Science, and we also talked about sports!
- Could you elaborate on how you've utilized Python in your past roles and what your proficiency is with libraries like Pandas?
- What's your experience level with Python for your previous job? How comfortable are you with Pandas?
- Do you have an interest in sports?
Data Scientist
I had an initial phone call with the Data Science head, who was super enthusiastic about PrizePicks, which made me really interested. He gave me thoughtful answers to my questions. After that, I got a data science assessment. I submitted it about a week later, we chatted more, and then I got an offer pretty soon after.
- Could you tell me about your background and experience?
- What is your understanding of machine learning?
- Please complete this Jupyter Notebook assessment covering data science and machine learning topics.
