Behavioral Instructor
This was one of the worst interviews I've ever attended. I think these reviews, both here and on Indeed.com are overly-reported and/or falsified. My interviewer was rude from the very minute she shook my hand and had a condescending air about her. She would not let me finish my answers, she asked me questions of which I had just answered because it seemed as though she was more focused on getting her words out first rather than actually listening to what I had to say. When I asked questions about the company culture and others relative aspects, she deflected and gave vague answers. They want you to give a commitment to the company, yet they only offer part-time work at this position, little to no benefits and tell you that you will have to drive up to 25 miles to see clients. Anyone who understands LA traffic would know why this is a problem. After she stated, "Ok, let me tell you about us," she then proceeded to tell me how, with a Master's degree, I'm over-qualified, which had nothing to do with the company, itself. On top of that, why would they schedule an interview and make me drive halfway across town to tell me I'm over-qualified? She then began to tell me how she would have to review my resume, but I did not even allow her to finish what she was saying. I told her that the position and the company are not a right fit for me, smiled and walked out of there. I am of the belief that the employees represent the company, and it's such a shame that she was the example. I highly suggest to anyone who is interviewing with this company (or any company for that matter) have YOUR questions for them, too. Do your research and read all of the reviews and go on gut feeling. Look at it as you interviewing them, as well, to make sure that the company is right for YOU.
- Do you have experience working with children?
Recruiter
Applied online and got an email back within days. They scheduled an initial interview with a temporary recruiter. On the day, I was called and told the interview needed to be rescheduled to the following week due to a last-minute meeting. The next week, I arrived for the interview and saw another candidate, who was also there for an interview. The interviewer was a bit late and apologized for double-booking us. So, I waited another 20 minutes, and the office doesn't validate parking, so this whole mess cost me money. The first interview went okay, but then they mentioned they weren't sure when they'd hire a recruiter and I might not hear back for a couple of weeks. Oddly, I got a call the same day inviting me for another interview a few days later. I went in and waited again... and waited. About 50 minutes past my interview time, I finally spoke with the interviewer. Again, these long waits cost me money because parking wasn't validated. The interview went well, and the interviewer said she'd check my references and I should expect an offer letter that evening or by Monday at the latest. I heard nothing. I emailed the first interviewer/point-of-contact and the second interviewer, but never got a response. Don't expect a timely response or for them to be organized.
- Are you planning on staying with the company for at least a couple of years?
Behavior Therapist
It was an online interview, likely at some office. They discussed the job extensively, but there wasn't much for me to contribute. It lasted about an hour, and by the end, they expressed interest in hiring me. I know Universal Studios has done this before, but I guess it's not that common.
- What are your thoughts on handling situations involving biting, scratching, and hair pulling from children?
Behavior Therapist
the interview was quick, thorough, and to the point with enough time for questions. The interviewer was sweet and knowledgeable about the position and kind-hearted. They asked important questions about the position itself. I was granted more benefits than at many other companies.
