I was contacted by a recruiter, then had an HR screening. My profile was sent to the department. The Hiring Manager contacted me after a week to set up an interview with a panel. The interview went well, but I haven't heard back about the outcome from the team or HR. I've sent follow-up emails for over a month with no update, and Workday hasn't been updated either. Job searching is stressful enough without being ghosted; better communication from the recruiting team would be appreciated.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I got a call from HR about an online interview, and I had 3 days to complete it. The questions were easier than I expected, around 15 total. It felt impersonal. Two weeks later, I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager and some team members. I arrived early, but the receptionist had to get my attention after 20 minutes because my interviewer called to direct me to another building on campus. Once there, the interviewer mentioned they weren't happy with the HR process for posting and scheduling. They were dressed casually. We went into a meeting room with old materials on the table. This part lasted about 20 minutes, with basic questions about the department's needs and workflow, mostly them telling me stuff. I asked about the candidate pool, and they said about 5 had face-to-face interviews out of 10 video interviews, and a contractor was also a candidate. They talked about past employees leaving, explaining the high turnover. They reviewed my portfolio and hesitated when I asked if they were familiar with it. Then, I met with two team members for about 30 minutes. I mostly asked them questions, including their least favorite part about working there, which they initially dodged but eventually said the software tool was inefficient and frustrating. The HR person mentioned a proficiency test, but it didn't happen. I was grateful for the experience but unimpressed with the process and interviewer, feeling they'd already decided on someone else. They seemed unprepared and didn't have structured questions. The HR contacts were prompt and pleasant. A week later, they called to say they were pursuing another candidate.

The application process felt a bit confusing. HR had posted multiple jobs with identical descriptions, but they actually reported to different managers and had slightly different responsibilities. The interviewers even mentioned this confusion at the start, which made me ask which specific position I was interviewing for. They said that they'd figure out the best placement for me later, given the mix-up.

Behavioral Technical Other

First, I had a phone chat with the recruiter. After that, I completed a personality assessment. Then, I went in person to meet with the supervisor and manager. Finally, there was another in-person meeting with the supervisor, manager, and the department manager. Everyone I met was really nice and helpful.
