Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Principal Financial Group.
Business Consultant
The interview process was pretty smooth and I met with friendly people. They have a few questions on their website that you should prepare for. This is a great company that has awesome benefits like 401K and vacation days.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult coworker.
Associate Consultant
I applied for the Associate Consultant role via elitmus and completed their written test, scoring in the 97th percentile. Following this, I reapplied and received an interview call. The entire process spanned a single day and consisted of two interview rounds, with the second round contingent on passing the first. The initial round was technical, and the subsequent one was an HR round. Prior to the interviews, a question about future aspirations ('Where do you see yourself in 5 years?') was administered to all candidates.
- What's your motivation for joining our company?
- Could you elaborate on your specific interest in our company?
- Can you solve these logic puzzles?
Associate Consultant
first they check ur aptitude by an exam called e-litmus. after that, there is a technical round where they ask about ur projects, algorithms, and other details. they also check ur logical skills and might ask you to write a simple program, but it is not mandatory. finally, there is an HR round which is an elimination round and many students get eliminated. they ask you everything that you have written on your resume, so be careful and do not try to bluff your skills.
- Can you tell me about your project?
- Can you tell me about your project?
