Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Principal Financial Group.
Financial Analyst
It was a pretty chill process, felt like a chat. They wanted to know my strengths and weaknesses, why I'm going for this specific job, what draws me to Des Moines, and my interest in Principal. All in all, it was straightforward. Just remember to prep some questions for the interviewer at the end.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
- What makes you want to apply for this position?
Financial Analyst
Had a few chats with HR and the hiring manager, both over the phone and in person. Started with a screen phone interview and then had a 1:1 interview. If it was a management role, there'd be a leadership/personality test. Overall, it was a really good experience.
- Describe your management style.
Finance Analyst
There were 3 rounds to this interview: first an aptitude test, then a technical interview, and finally an HR round. The interview level felt moderate, and the people were friendly. The whole thing took about a full day.
- Can you tell me about the projects and skills listed on your CV?
