Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Principal Financial Group.
Claims Analyst
The interview process only involved the hiring team, skipping an initial HR call. It consisted of a single panel interview with four members: hiring managers, senior analysts, and the trainer. The questions were behavior-based, and I was given ample opportunity to ask my own questions.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
Senior Analyst
I'm not sure about the walk-in interview process, I was expecting an update from the hiring team or the recruiter. I applied for an analyst role and I'm doing my best to get a role in an organization. This isn't a review of the organization, but I really want to say that if I'm given the right opportunity and proper guidance, I can be useful.
- Could you tell me about yourself and explain how the industry operates?
Analyst
I applied for a role at Principal Global through campus recruitment. There were over 500 registrations, and the process had 6 rounds. Round 1 was an online exam with 18 quantitative aptitude word problems, lasting 45 minutes. 190 students advanced. Round 2 was the eLitmus pH test, an offline exam with 60 questions (20 each in quantitative, logical, and verbal sections), where each question was worth 10 marks. After this, 45 students were invited for an in-person interview. Round 3 was a technical interview. IT and computer science students faced questions on programming, data structures, and DBMS, while others were asked resume-based questions. Round 4 was a puzzle round with 6 puzzles. The final two rounds, Step 5 and 6, were HR rounds. Although I didn't get the job, 7 students reached the final HR round, and 6 were ultimately selected.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- Would you be able to write some code?
- Tell me about your projects.
