First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Primoris Services Corporation.
Project Coordinator
We started with an HR screen where they asked typical soft skill questions. Then, I had an interview with the manager/supervisor where we discussed technical skills and my past experience. Finally, I met with the supervisor and manager again to assess culture fit. Overall, it was a good interview experience.
- Can you share your experience that is relevant to this position?
Construction Project Manager
It was 3 rounds, first with HR, then the hiring manager, and finally a field project manager. All interviews were virtual via Zoom. It was mostly asking and answering questions, with a bit of chit-chat at the start and time for my questions at the end.
- What are your strategies for managing pressure and dealing with challenging individuals on a construction site?
Scheduler
I was flown out to Southern CA and picked up at the airport by a car that took me to the Project Controls Manager's office in Lake Forest. Everything for the trip, like flights and car service, was confirmed by email beforehand so it was easy to get around. The receptionist was nice and I waited in the conference room for a bit before meeting the hiring manager. He was friendly and professional and let me know there were a couple more interviews after his. Everyone I met that day was professional. Then I went to lunch before heading back to the airport. I got a call not long after about the job and was hired. I've been with ARB Inc. for a while now and they're a solid construction company that really emphasizes safety and integrity, which is great.
- Were there any trick questions or hidden agendas during the process, or is ARB Inc. a straightforward company looking for trained and experienced individuals?
Project Manager
The interview was in person at the office and started with the PM manager, who is based in CA. During the same visit, I also met with the two other PMs I would be working with. It was a red flag for me that there was NO remote work offered for the job in Denton, but the hiring manager lived in CA and worked remotely.
- Can you explain how your qualifications match the requirements of this position?
- Have you worked with finer-grained tasks before?
