I wouldn't advise anyone talented to waste their time interviewing with Primer. They were unprofessional and disorganized, even losing their head recruiter mid-process. They'll waste your time. Luckily, my interviews were outside of work hours and didn't require time off, but others might face worse. It's weird that their C-levels and VPs interview candidates they don't intend to hire. Plus, they seemed to change their minds and criteria for the role while I was interviewing. The recruiter said it was remote, some team members agreed, then suddenly it was announced as primarily on-site. This inconsistency points to internal management issues. The process started with a recruiter chat, then a 45-minute interview with a team member, followed by a panel with various leaders, and then several rounds with C-levels. Strangely, no actual technical skills were tested at any point. During the panel, some interviewers seemed to think a technical assessment had happened. Some team member chats hinted at potential internal dysfunction. The disconnect between middle management and C-levels, along with the internal reorganization, suggests management problems that need resolving for better alignment.

First, I had a "touch base" chat with the Recruiter to see if I was a good fit. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager; it was thorough and detailed but not scary. After that, I met with two current SDRs for a chat to assess my work organization and potential. They also gave me a great rundown of what the role entails. There was a take-home assignment that needed some creative thinking, which I actually enjoyed doing. Finally, I had two interviews with senior leaders and a quick follow-up with the hiring manager. The senior leadership chats were pretty relaxed, focusing on my future goals and the company culture; they were very genuine and welcoming. The last chat with the hiring manager was more like a traditional interview, but without any tricky questions, and I felt pretty comfortable.

First, I chatted with the hiring manager. They gave me a general overview of the job and asked about my background. Then, on the same day, I had a technical interview where I was given a client scenario to work through and asked some questions about algorithms. The next week, I had a longer interview session, about 2.5 hours, with different people from various teams. They asked me a bunch of questions about my previous work and how I approach deadlines, and other related stuff.

First I spoke with a recruiter and then was scheduled for a technical phone screen. Next was a mini-project that I had to complete. It was actually a sizeable app they wanted me to design and build. It took much longer than they said it would. After that, I got invited onsite for a pretty typical 4-5 hour interview. The onsite interview was typical, but the project was a ridiculous amount of work. I barely had time to finish it.
