First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pride Stations & Stores.
District Manager
I got a voicemail from the vp to call to set up an interview. When I called back, I couldn't reach him. The person who answered gave me his direct line. I called him back, and he was really rude, acting like I was bothering him. He just told me to set up the interview as he'd already said. So I called the place again and set up the interview. It was one of the weirdest interviews I've had. I arrived early and was greeted by the receptionist, who asked me to wait while she found the owner. After about 15 minutes, a worker came out. It wasn't the owner, and they said they would interview me. I would have thought this person would be qualified to evaluate upper management, but they seemed to be an administrative assistant. They asked questions that weren't even at the level I would be managing. I'd read reviews beforehand and saw it's a backward company. I agree now after seeing the process. I'm going to say what everyone else has said in the reviews: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
- Do you have a Bachelor's degree?
- What do you think you can bring to this company?
Social Media Manager
It was a pretty weird interview. The company president was late, but once we started, it went okay. He asked normal interview questions and then offered me the job. When I mentioned I'd need about a month to relocate, he made some uncomfortable comments about knowing where I lived and suggesting I could make it to Springfield for work. He then questioned why I'd need a month, implying younger people are eager to start, especially for a $35,000 salary, and asked if my 'daddy was rich.' The whole experience was unpleasant.
- What are your thoughts on our current social media presence and what needs improvement?
Cashier
I applied online for the job and then received an email about 2 hours later to set up a phone interview. It was a very short and to the point call. The interviewer asked me basic questions about the job and whether I would be willing to come in for a second interview.
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
Team Leader
It was a really straightforward process, mostly just talking about my experience and if I fit the role. Then I had a second chat with the VP where we mainly covered the salary and my potential start date.
- Can you explain why you are looking to leave your current job, considering you've been there for up to two years?
