The interviewers were really nice and made me feel comfortable, it was more like a chat. I first spoke with HR, then the team lead. The team lead mentioned they are different from other companies because they give immediate feedback and don't ghost candidates. He said I passed and would interview with the CEO next. I was excited but then got ghosted. After a month and a half of no response, even after I reached out multiple times for an update, they finally told me they had filled the position.

I had a great interview with multiple team members who all seemed dedicated to the work that they were doing. After a phone interview and two in-person meetings with multiple employees and the Founder, I received a call from one of the employees asking me if I'd be interested in a different role he thought I would be a good fit for. I said yes, and was sent an offer that evening. I sent an email negotiating a possible higher salary, which was denied without any type of follow-up or next steps. I then asked in lieu of salary if additional PTO was possible and I didn't hear back for a couple days until they informed me that salary and PTO are nonnegotiable and that the job offer was being rescinded.

I applied online around 9/16. On 9/25, I had a phone interview and got a case study to create a product and plan, due Oct 1st. Prevail contacted me on Oct 3rd for a screenshare to pitch my idea the next week. But, Prevail rescheduled this pitch meeting four times for various reasons like illnesses and people not being in the office. Each time, I had to chase them for updates, and they'd reschedule on the day it was supposed to happen. The in-person interview finally happened on 10/16, with three parts: with the Engineering Team, with Design and Product Owner, and a 1-on-1 with the VP of Product. The whole process felt disorganized. They gave me three more tasks: a product solution prompt from Engineering, a whiteboarding exercise from Design, and a Q&A with the VP of Product. All questions were really specific to either Prevail's actual product or the one I made up for the case study. People were nice, and I was told I'd hear back by the end of that week. I didn't get a rejection until a week later, and only after I nudged them again.

The hiring manager gave me a heads-up on what to expect before scheduling the first of four interviews. It was pretty standard, mostly about my experience and if I'd be a good cultural fit. I met with the Head of Product, the CEO, and HR as part of the team.
