Team Leader
I submitted my online application, answering questions about my availability, why I wanted to work for Pret, and my skills and experience in management. After that, I got a phone call inviting me for an in-person interview, and we set a date and time. I met with the general manager, who looked at my application on the computer. She mostly talked about the role, Pret's business standards, how that specific shop runs, and answered my questions. It felt more like a casual chat than a formal interview. Then, she took me to the shop floor and had me work the till for a bit to see how I interact with customers and handle mild pressure. The whole thing took about 20-30 minutes. She mentioned she'd get feedback from the rest of the team about me and contact me later in the week.
- Can you describe your management experience and how you'd deal with a challenging customer interaction?
- Tell me about your management experience and how you would handle a difficult situation with a customer?
Team Leader
I was recommended for this role because I had a great experience at Tothill Street. Both the manager and the manager there were always helpful, answering our questions and guiding us. They really encouraged us to keep going and kept instructing us.
- Do you know how to close the till?
- Do you have experience in customer service?
- How would you manage a busy store and request assistance when needed?
Team Leader
It started with an email, then I went to the Pret A Manger main building. From there, I was taken in for an interview with a really nice lady. She asked me a lot of questions about my previous jobs and current position, what I did, etc. She asked about numbers, like how much I was making as a manager, the highest takings, and preparation process, knowledge of food preps, it went on and on. She said she'd contact me in 2 weeks. After 2 days, she contacted me and said I was unsuccessful due to the distance. She asked if I'd like to be in their CV pool, which I said yes to because I really liked the company. Maybe I'll get lucky in the future. Now they want their people to not travel more than 45 minutes because they're considering the busy days. I was okay with that, but they probably know better than I do. I'll probably try again.
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
- What do you know about food preparation and health and safety regulations?
- How many employees did you manage?
