Account Manager
It was a three-round interview process. The first round was short and easy, covering leadership, providing information about open positions, and asking about your potential success in the Marketing Industry. The second round was a longer Job Shadow, where they gave detailed information about the company, including pay, hours, schedule, and location. The last round was a phone interview to discuss your interest in the position and your strengths and weaknesses.
- What does Leadership mean to you?
- Why do you think you would be successful in the Marketing Industry?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Account Manager
The interview process started with a brief 10-minute recruiter call where I was asked to talk about myself, and then they vaguely described the job, mentioning Fortune 500 companies and an entry-level path. After that, I was invited for a second interview on a Saturday for a job shadow to see if I liked the role. During the second interview, I was directed to drive to a different location for lunch to go over more job details. Lunch was with a trainer who explained everything, and then we went to Walmart to observe the actual job: selling Direct TV to passersby, which turned out to be the real nature of the 'Account Manager' role. The job is entirely commission-based, with a minimum wage fallback. The description implied a very low success rate, with about 1 in 100 people signing up, making it seem like a waste of time.
- In five years, where do you envision yourself?
Account Manager
I went to the Prestige Business Solutions office in Orlando, FL. When I got there, I had to fill out a pre-interview form. Shortly after, I was taken to a room to talk with an Account Manager. The job description they gave me was really unclear compared to what they advertised online. They asked me some really basic questions that seemed totally unrelated to the job, making me wonder why I was even there. After about 5 minutes, the Account Manager walked me out and said they'd let me know if I got to the next round, which I knew wouldn't happen, and honestly, I was glad.
- What are your hobbies outside of work?
