Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Presbyterian Healthcare Services.
Registered Nurse
You'll have a panel interview where they'll ask you scenario questions to see how you think critically, what your experience is like, and how resourceful you are. They'll also ask several questions about your past experience and your career goals. The panel is open to any questions you have for them throughout the process.
- What would you do if you couldn't reach a doctor for a prescription refill and it was almost the weekend?
- Tell me about a time you had to use critical thinking to solve a problem.
- What's your experience been like as a registered nurse?
Registered Nurse
It was a two-step interview process. First, I had an interview with management. Then, after a job shadow, I had a peer interview. They asked simple situational questions that came from the application questionnaires. They weren't too hard, just reasonable questions.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
Nurse
The interview process started with a 20 minute phone screening. Then, there was a 45 minute in-person interview. After that, I spent more time shadowing a nurse on the floor. For this Transition to Practice program, they wanted a 3 YEAR contract, and all they offered was the training which was pretty standard.
- Can you share an instance where you went above and beyond to ensure patient satisfaction?
- Describe a situation where you had to manage a difficult patient or deny a patient's request.
- How have you addressed situations involving staff shortages?
