I chatted with Patrick, who was super responsive. The interview process had three parts: first, a recruiter call, then a technical interview, and finally an interview with the team. I got pretty far, but they ended up going with someone else. I felt like the job was more about Databricks than Azure, and the vibe I got from the person I'd report to was a bit off, though the rest of the team seemed cool. After they told me I didn't get it, I asked the recruiter for some feedback on what they were looking for, but they never wrote back. :)

Premise Health has a really annoying interview process. After the recruiter screens you, the hiring manager takes over, and they're supposed to handle all communication and updates. This was frustrating because the manager probably has a lot on their plate besides just hiring. The hiring manager often gave me a timeline for hearing back about next steps, but then it wouldn't happen. It would take an extra week or two past their own deadlines. The whole thing took 3-4 months. With the current job market, they seemed to lack urgency. They even added another interview round after I was told the previous one was the final one. This is a mid-level role, not an executive one, so there shouldn't be so much time between interviews or so many of them. Towards the end, I got an offer and let them know I needed to make a decision. They rushed me into a final interview, but it felt like they were just going through the motions rather than genuinely engaging in discussion and decision-making. Overall, I was disappointed because it seemed like a good company, but the hiring process was a major turn-off.

So, I had a quick phone chat that was under 10 minutes, just the usual 'why here?' and 'tell me about yourself' stuff. A couple days later, the manager called to set up an in-person interview for the next week. That interview was pretty chill, mostly focused on my past job duties, how they'd fit this role, dealing with difficult coworkers, and handling tough customers. They also gave me a rundown of the job responsibilities to see if I was up for it. Got the offer a few days after that. The whole thing took about a week and a half.
