The whole interview thing took about 3 weeks. First, I talked to HR, then the next week I spoke with the direct manager. They got back to me about the process two weeks after that. The interview included questions about my technical knowledge, my future goals, and my management style.

I interviewed for what seemed like a key role supporting the CRO, COO, and sometimes CEO, but I was mistaken. The CRO is new and seems to require more of a personal assistant. The COO is not very approachable and is rumored to shout frequently. The CEO has numerous assistants, so that part was not clear. I would need more than the $120K salary offered to deal with those interpersonal dynamics.

I put in my application and completed the required personality test. About a week later, the HR rep reached out to schedule a phone screening. The earliest they could do was over a week out, which I agreed to. After the screening, about a week passed, and then HR emailed about an in-person interview scheduled for ten days from then. It was pretty casual, no tricky questions, and they said I'd hear back in about a week. Fast forward two weeks, and I get another email from HR to set up a second interview for the following Thursday. But then, just three days before that interview, I get a call from a different HR person. She tells me the second interview is off and they're 'going in a different direction,' then hangs up.
