First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Precision Business Solutions.
Analyst
It was a really long and kind of messy process with 5 interviews in total. First was a recruiter screen, then a phone interview with a senior analyst/modeler, followed by a quick 15-min chat with a director. After that, I went onsite to their NYC office for an interview with two senior analysts. The final interview was with the CEO and the senior vice president. The SVP was great, but the CEO made some odd comments about me needing to know US geography since I'm looking for jobs here, which felt a bit condescending given I'm a citizen. Despite the length, everyone was nice and gave good insights. The CEO also asked about the Mississippi River, which I'm not sure is super relevant to the job.
- Can you tell me about the Mississippi River's starting and ending states, the states it flows through in order, and where it eventually drains?
- What's the total count of skyscrapers in New York City?
- What is the angle between the hour and minute hands on a clock at 3:15?
Business Analyst
Phone interview where they asked about my background, GPA, motivation, and strengths. They answered my questions, and I learned about the program's process and training.
- What motivates you to pursue this role?
Market Analyst
First, I had a phone call, then a 1:1 meeting, and finally a panel interview.
- Tell me about geography.
- How do you solve problems?
- What are your behaviors like?
Data Analyst
In total, there were 3 interviews. The first one provided details about the business and asked questions to understand my background, strengths, and weaknesses. The second one was more technical and featured 2 case study questions, similar to those in consulting interviews. The third interview was like the first, focusing more on 'good fit' questions.
- How proficient are you with SQL?
- How proficient are you with Python?
