First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Precipart.
Systems Analyst
I had a phone interview with HR, then an in-person with HR and the IT department. After that, there was an IT assessment interview with ridiculous trick questions not typical for helpdesk work. They wasted my time and didn't have the courtesy to follow up.
- Figure out why a mail rule wasn't moving emails from the inbox to a hypothetical folder, given a very minor typo in the rule.
- Analyze a mail rule with a minor typo and explain why it failed to move emails.
Project Engineer
The interviewer was friendly and pleasant. The interview was conducted in person. It was mainly a behavioral interview, with a few technical questions about the company's products. Specifically, I was asked about identifying a part's dimensions and explaining the machining process.
- How would you describe your leadership style?
- Are there any behaviors that particularly annoy you?
- Can you identify a dimension of a machined part?
Sales Engineer
It first started with a phone Interview. After that, I took an online personality test before going in person. The in person interview began with the HR person I spoke with on the phone. We talked for about an hour about my resume, what I've done, and how I think Precipart is a good fit for me and vice versa. After that, the Director came in with a recent hire. I had specific questions about the job, and from there it led into an hour-long conversation about the company and how they carry out certain things, acquiring new business, and what is done. After that, the VP came in, and it was more of a good conversation. They wanted to bring in the CEO but he was in a meeting, so that was about it.
- What is your interest in Precipart?
Software Engineer
I had two interviews, one with HR and one with my Manager. The HR interview was mostly Behavioral using the STAR method, while the manager interview was technical. It wasn't too bad overall. Just use the STAR method and you'll do fine. Make sure you know your resume really well so you can answer the technical questions, as they're based on it.
- Can you share an example of a time when you faced a challenge?
- Could you elaborate on your experience with [topic from your resume]?
- Please discuss your background and technical experience.
