First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Prairie View A&M.
Intern
The interview process was pretty straightforward, focusing on whether you’re someone who works hard and is committed to finishing tasks and keeping up with your studies. They’d put you in a spot that suits your needs and help out with paying for basic things while you’re on campus.
- Can you balance your job responsibilities with your academic workload?
Financial Counselor
The interview process involves screening candidates, an initial phone interview, a skills assessment, and a final in-person or video interview. This allows for a thorough evaluation of qualifications, experience, cultural fit, and potential contributions.
- Can you define financial aid?
- Who is eligible for financial aid?
Extension Agent
The interview was straightforward but a bit unusual. Instead of a manager, the staff members I'd be working with interviewed me. They asked a few standard behavioral questions, and that was the extent of it. There wasn't much conversation or in-depth questioning about my specific experience or background. It's crucial to have a strong resume since the interview itself isn't the place to really shine. However, it was a good chance to meet the team and ask them about the role.
- What are three aspects of your current job that you dislike?
Lecturer
The interview was a two-part process, conducted via Zoom and then in a classroom setting. Both parts felt straightforward and fairly simple, and I got a really good vibe from the interviewers. I will say that sometimes I wasn't sure how organized the interviewers were, as at times it seemed like they forgot about me or that I was even scheduled. Additionally, it's taken a long time to get a response from anyone, which has been true for other jobs I've applied for at this location as well.
- Can you describe your teaching philosophy and how you handle difficulties in the classroom?
- What aspects of your background qualify you for this position?
- What is your teaching philosophy?
