I sat down in a conference room with the Plant Manager, the head of HR, and the Maintenance Supervisor. They talked about the plant's processes and asked me questions about my experience and education. The people were knowledgeable and gave feedback on my answers. They told me on the spot that if the maintenance supervisor got his way, I would be hired. It was a laid-back interview that gave me a chance to show what I know.

The company recently relocated its headquarters, and I was eager to join. However, the job description seemed overly broad and didn't accurately reflect the role. The interviewer appeared distant and uninterested in discussing me or the company's recent move. I was then unexpectedly questioned about PF standards of operations procedures, which are typically learned on the job. Despite my 20 years of experience as a senior director, I left the meeting feeling inadequate, deceived, and somewhat disrespected. To add to the disappointment, a follow-up a few weeks later indicated I was still under consideration, but I received no further communication. They failed to provide a simple update, either due to a lack of professionalism or negligence, leaving me unaware of their decision to move forward with another candidate.

Got a call for an interview about 2 days after my resume was sent over to the HR Manager. When I got to the facility, I filled out an application and then interviewed with the HR Manager. The HR Assistant greeted me first and was really nice. The HR Manager started by asking about my past job duties. Then they asked some questions like 'tell me about a time you were late and how you felt about it?' and 'When did you make a mistake and how did you fix it?'. After they told me about the plant, I asked some questions. I sent my thank you email that same afternoon, and got a call with an offer a few hours later. I heard back with my start date 3 days after finishing my background check, drug and agility test, and physical.

I filled out an application on CareerBuilder and they emailed me the next day. Turns out it's a Union job, which I didn't know. The person interviewing me was awesome and very laid back for the Memphis, TN location. Probation pay isn't bad, and after probation, there's a substantial pay raise. Insurance starts after 60 days. I'll be home every day. They offer FMLA and 401k, but I'm not sure about Roth. The interviewer mentioned sick days and vacation after a year. It's 50 hours a week. I wasn't offered the job at this time because they have other applicants to interview. It would be a pay cut from my current position, but possibly offer peace of mind.
