First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Practice by Numbers.
Account Executive
The interview process was super easy and straightforward. It was simple and efficient, with three rounds that were led by different leaders, which was cool to get different perspectives. They communicated clearly and responded quickly, so I never had to wait around for answers. Everyone I met was really approachable, easy to chat with, and just genuinely nice throughout the whole thing.

Technical Lead
I was reached out by a recruiter through email, and we had an initial screening call to go over my experience and see if it was a good fit. After that, a high-level design interview was set up on Zoom. I'm pretty experienced, so it went well.
- Could you design an auction system that extends the auction by 10 minutes if a new bid is placed within 10 seconds of the original end time?
Billing Manager
My first interview went fine and I was satisfied with my demeanor during it, so I won't detail it. The second interview, however, was the absolute worst and most unprofessional experience I've ever had. Even though I had already accepted another offer, I thought this lower-paying job might still be worth it. I was wrong. The executive showed up late and seemed completely distracted and uninterested in talking. He claimed to have my resume but ignored it and then accused me of being a job hopper, despite my previous roles lasting 2-4 years or being contract-based. His insensitivity was astounding. He criticized my education even though I'm debt-free. I come from a single mom in the military and have always worked two jobs or overtime to cope with tough times like 9/11, the housing crisis, COVID, and current tariffs. I haven't made the salary they were offering since 2020. I was totally upfront about everything. Some might think I'm just bitter about not getting the job, but I'm not. I had already verbally accepted another position four days earlier. I didn't even send a thank you note. I just took a shower because I was so disgusted with how I was treated. I felt less than human.
- Can you walk me through your job history?
- Why do you consider yourself a job hopper?
- Can you explain your job history and why you may be perceived as a job hopper, considering your first employee has been with you for 10-15 years?
Customer Success Manager
I think interviewing with Practice by Numbers was a complete waste of my time. They have totally unrealistic expectations, like wanting to buy a Wagyu steak for the price of a cheap ribeye. My first interview was with another CSM, and it went well. We had a good chat, and he seemed to think I'd be a good fit. He said the Owner would reach out to schedule a more in-depth second interview soon. That's when things went downhill. The Owner was almost 10 minutes late to our interview and didn't apologize. He made a rude comment about having 'sooooo many other qualified candidates' to see. This made me feel like my time wasn't valued. During the first interview, I was asked about my salary expectations, and I later found out they were way lower than what they wanted to pay. I asked if this was an issue or if they were flexible, and I was assured my experience would be considered. That wasn't true. In the second interview, the Owner saw my salary request and said there was no way they'd go above their max. I also learned this new hire would be the third person managing over 1000 customers, so each CSM has about 500 clients and they're paying entry-level Helpdesk Technician wages? Good luck to whoever takes this job, you'll be doing a ton of work for next to nothing and won't have a good work/life balance. We mutually ended the interview early. Red flags were everywhere: his comments, how he spoke to me, his unprofessional attitude, and not doing his homework before our call. If he'd read the first interviewer's notes, he wouldn't have scheduled the second interview. Save yourself the time and believe the negative reviews online; they seem true.
