Recruiter
The interview process involves 5 behavioral interview questions. These include typical questions like telling me about yourself and why you are interested in the company, along with behavioral questions such as a time you showed great customer service or had a difficult customer.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in our company?
- Can you tell me about a time you provided excellent customer service?
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer?
Reporting Coordinator
I was interviewed by 2 employees. They were nice, but the questions felt repetitive and like typical interview questions like "tell us about a time when you..." with a lot of overlap in potential answers, which messed with the conversation flow. When I got to ask questions about the job and the role, things got better and I could show what I know. The interview was a bit too structured for me. I was told I'd hear back from HR within the week about the outcome, but it's been 3 weeks and I still haven't heard anything.
- Could you detail your previous work experience?
- What are your personality traits?
- What's an area for improvement that your current colleagues would identify?
Senior Java Engineer
I was contacted by the hiring manager and had a phone interview. Then, I went in for a face-to-face interview which involved a technical test and a Q&A. The next day, the recruitment coordinator told me the manager thought it went well and they wanted to make an offer. However, the hiring manager and his boss were on holiday for over a week and couldn't finalize the offer due to a budget meeting. When they were supposed to be back and had their meeting, I didn't hear anything, so I emailed and was told the meeting was happening that day, and I'd hear back the next morning. No call, so I left a voicemail. Two days later, still no contact. The following week, I contacted the hiring manager directly who apologized and said he was still waiting for the budget meeting, which should be by the end of that week, and I'd hear from them either way. It's now a week later, nearly a month since the initial offer was mentioned, and still nothing. This whole experience was unprofessional, leaving me hanging for a month.
- Can you discuss Java 8 features such as Lambdas and Collections?
- Could you build a Spring Boot RESTful web service that stores search strings and checks if a search string exists, including dynamic reloading?
- Can you adapt the search string storage to an ElasticSearch cluster and client?
Career Specialist
It was a quick phone screen with the hiring manager. Then there was a panel interview with three people: a manager, a director, and another manager. It lasted about 45 minutes, and they asked around 15 questions. They also gave me time to ask my own questions. I won't talk to HR again until after I'm hired.
- Tell me about your experience working with diverse populations.
- How do you approach Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in your work?
- Describe a time you worked with diverse populations in a career-related context.
