Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied online, and then had a phone screening. After that, I had a phone interview with the manager and another one with HR. Then, two in-person interviews were scheduled (this was before COVID) with the manager and a senior team member. It was a really detailed interview process. The final manager interview actually went an hour over because it was a really good, intense conversation. I left with a verbal offer and salary details on a Friday afternoon. The official offer letter arrived on Monday.

I got an email to schedule a call and I picked a time quickly, but never got a confirmation, so I had to reach out myself for the hiring manager to pick a time. They called right on time. It was a 10min call with no real questions, just 'tell me about yourself.' They mentioned the job description was 'misleading' and that despite my resume, it's actually a client liaison role with no technical work, which is confusing given the job title and listed requirements like JavaScript, HTML, CSS. They said the required skills aren't actually needed. They also asked if I wanted to move into developing in 5 years, and when I said yes, they told me they weren't looking for someone with that goal. I didn't hear back the following week as they said I would.

I got reached out to for an interview, but then after waiting ages for a reply, they said they weren't hiring for the role. Then, a few days later, they emailed back saying they'd changed their mind and asked if I could still interview. I did a phone screen with the recruiter the same day. It went really well and they said they'd contact me either that day or the next to set up the next stage. After not hearing anything for four days, I followed up. Four days after that, I got a generic rejection email. Seriously, the whole process was super disrespectful, which makes me think they probably treat their employees the same way.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was very lengthy and disrespectful of my time, involving 4 interview rounds, a questionnaire, and a presentation. After all this, I was informed they hired someone else who was "in process" and had more relevant experience. While I understand wanting someone with specific experience, it felt unnecessary to put me through so many stages and a 20+ hour presentation when my background was clear from my resume and early interviews.
