First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Postman.
Forward Deployed Engineer
The interview process was incredible! It started with a recruiter call, then a system design problem, followed by a technical implementation round, and wrapped up with a chat with the CTO. Sal Khan was my recruiter and kept me updated the whole time! It was a really smooth and great process, covering all the essential skills and job-related conversations without redundant rounds.
- Design an agentic AI system that includes a custom API data endpoint and a custom database implementation. This system should process data and provide a user query interface to ask questions about the data from the API source.

The recruiter at Postman was super friendly and communicative. They did a great job of setting expectations for the interview and the job itself. I had one round with the hiring manager, followed by three onsite interviews. These included one for system design, one for coding, and one behavioral interview. It was a really positive experience overall!
- The interview is very practical. You are given a case study describing a real-world problem and are assessed on how you would design a solution (analyzing trade offs, making smart assumptions, understanding system design, etc).
- Then later you have a coding interview implementing a piece of this solution.
- The behavioral is on various topics like dealing with uncertainty, how you work with customer teams, and more.

The interview process included a Recruiter Round, then a Hiring Manager round, and finally an Onsite interview which had a Case Study, an Executive Interview, and a Technical round that was based on the case study. While I didn't get an offer, it was a good experience interviewing with the team. The company is aiming for big enterprise expansion, and the people I met were really passionate about what they do. The hiring manager seems like someone who really wants you to do well and will help you out. My recruiter, Sal Khan, was great and really advocated for me throughout.
- Tell me about a time you challenged a customer's decision or request.
