& Process

I put in my application online, and then they reached out via email to set up a first interview. After that, I got a Design Exercise to work on. The day after I submitted it, they set up an in-person second interview.

I was referred to Post Brothers by a recruiter and interviewed via zoom with the SVP and Asset Manager the very next day. I was upfront about having two other opportunities I was pursuing, but they encouraged me to hold off on accepting any offers until I could fly out to meet them the following week. I had to complete a short exercise where I identified areas of improvement for their luxury property, which felt like I was doing their job for them. I reiterated my compensation requirements multiple times. They asked me to formally apply even though the job wasn't posted on their site. The SVP gave me a verbal lowball offer and said a written offer would follow with a 48-hour response window, but I never received it. My attempts to follow up were initially brushed off, and then the SVP told me they offered the job to someone else. She also mentioned being married to a pastor and feeling blessed. Travel expenses were not reimbursed. It started promisingly but lacked follow-through, as seen in the property's condition. I feel like I dodged a bullet and am now in a better place with integrity and respect.

Applied for a marketing role. Had a phone screen, then two Zoom interviews and two in person interviews. Also did a writing exercise. Everything seemed to go well, I liked them and they wanted to hire me. Got a verbal offer with salary and start date. Last step was meeting the CEO, but he vetoed me, overruling the hiring manager. Got another offer during this time. Told Post Brothers, but they were slow to respond, so I had to accept the other offer to avoid losing it. I think I dodged a bullet though, considering how they handled it. The staff turnover rate was also surprising; met about six people who were all hired in the past year. Post Brothers pays well, but you work for someone who doesn't respect their staff. Happy in my new role and hope the marketing team there finds something better.

I got called and emailed about an interview, and I set it up for the next week. It was with two marketing people, and they asked some kinda tricky questions, but not too bad. It lasted about 45 minutes total. They had me design a flyer for them, which I did and sent back the next day. It's been weeks though, and I followed up by email but never heard back. I'm guessing they hired someone else.
