First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Porsche Cars North America.
Intern
The interview process started with an online self-recorded segment where I had to answer 5 questions. I got a response within two days. After that, there was a panel interview with the hiring manager and my manager, focusing on basic behavioral questions. They inquired about my proficiency in areas like Excel, PowerBI, and data management.
- How would you rate your Excel skills on a scale of 1-5, and what features are you comfortable using?
- What are your competencies with Excel?
- Can you elaborate on your experience with PowerBI?
Internal Auditor
The interview process took a few months. First, there was a video call with 5 basic questions. Then, a 1.5-hour Teams meeting where they asked situational questions and I presented a case study. After that, an in-person interview with a different "pop-up" case study. They invited me for a fourth round, but I declined because it seemed like a slow decision-making process.
- Can you share an instance where you had to work extended hours, such as late nights, overtime, or on a weekend?
Marketing Intern
very good vibes, they look for people that have strong communication skills, have a global mind and experience in similar industries. The manager was nice and they did ask average questions regarding my background. The compensation is not super high.
- Can you tell me about your experience with fixing and maintaining cars?
- What's your understanding of new car technologies like EVs and ADAS?
- Describe how you go about figuring out what's wrong with a vehicle. Walk me through your troubleshooting steps.
Analyst
After finishing the initial phone screen and a self-recorded video interview, the recruiter planned a Teams interview with the hiring team. I gave my availability to the recruiter. The recruiter scheduled the interview at a time that didn't work for me because I had an overlapping work call. I mentioned this to the recruiter and foolishly said I could try to adjust my schedule. The recruiter's response was that it would be much easier if I made the adjustment. This response made me realize what working at Porsche might be like. If they can't accommodate a candidate during the interview process, I can only imagine how they treat full-time employees. The recruiter didn't offer to reschedule and kept the original interview time. Since I had a conflicting work call, I missed the interview. The job has been reposted multiple times recently, so I don't think rescheduling my work call would have been a major issue. While I'm disappointed, I don't think it's a bad thing in the long run.
- Can you let me know when you are available?
