HR Immigration Coordinator
Recruiter reached out via Linkedin 2 days after I applied. We had a 30 min call about the position and company. 3 days later, she scheduled the second round with the hiring manager and 2 others. This happened 2 weeks later. After the 2nd interview, I was told I was not selected. Laura's communication was amazing, she was transparent and answered all questions. The interview itself was great, I felt comfortable.
- How would you connect with colleagues in a remote work setting?
HR Operations Specialist
The recruiter reached out via email and LinkedIn, and was very responsive in helping me schedule a screening. However, our first scheduled meeting was a no-show, and after I followed up, the recruiter didn't acknowledge it. We did eventually have a phone call that was pleasant, but I had to follow up again for an update. So, the communication was a bit off overall.
- What is motivating your job search and can you tell me about your experience?
- Can you elaborate on your experience?
Onboarding Coordinator
I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for an Onboarding Coordinator position. I had a phone interview with him that lasted about an hour and went really well. He seemed to think I was a good fit but mentioned there wouldn't be any openings for a few weeks and he'd let me know when something came up. He mentioned I would 'definitely get an interview.' About two weeks later, he reached out again to see if I was still interested. I said yes, and he scheduled me to speak with his manager the next day. The next day, the recruiter called instead of the manager, saying the manager had to go home sick. He asked if I had any questions and said he was 'really excited' for me. He said he'd call on Monday to reschedule. I didn't hear from him on Monday, so I reached out on Tuesday. He apologized and said the position was filled internally and wished me luck. I was confused because it seemed to change so suddenly. Then I saw the recruiter posted the same job for a different location, and he admitted he was supposed to post it for the IL location, not Troy. This means he wasted the time of 14 other applicants too. It was unprofessional and a waste of my time because he couldn't just tell me I wasn't a fit or that it was filled.
- Can you share some instances where you successfully de-escalated a situation with an unhappy customer or client?
Recruiter
Started with an initial phone screen where they asked if I was interested in the role, gave an overview of the company culture, and talked about pay and the general office atmosphere. Then had a phone interview where we discussed how much recruiting sucks, they looked for gaps in my work history and pushed on them to see how I'd react. The in-person interview was an attitude check, with the interviewer showing little emotion and coaching/giving feedback on my answers to see my reaction. I met the team in the office, and they asked me questions. Finally, I did a mock cold call with someone from another office.
- Tell me about your interest in this recruiting role.
- Can you describe the company culture?
- What's the general overview of the pay structure and office vibe?
