Marketing
The interview process was good, although it took a while to get a response back, which seems pretty standard these days. They asked some basic questions about why I wanted to join the company, what made successful campaigns in my past roles, and how those success factors would translate to their organization.
- Can you recall a particularly outstanding campaign you were involved in?
- This was a very typical interview format.

I applied online and got an email from HR the same day. The recruiter was super friendly and upfront, even asking about my salary needs in the first email. We scheduled a phone call for the next day and had a really good talk. She explained the job in detail and then invited me to the office to meet the hiring managers. She sent me a clear outline of what to expect and what to wear (casual). A few days later, I went to the office and met with the two hiring managers. Each interview was 45 minutes long, but it went by fast. Everyone was really nice and chatty. They also let me grab some swag from their wall after the interview.
- Can you share an instance of when you failed?
- What aspects of your previous role did you find least appealing?
- How do you approach managing your priorities?

The interview process involved two informational chats, followed by a technical assessment. After that, I met with the hiring manager and then the person currently in the role I was interviewing for. At the very end, they took us to their "office supply" area. This could either mean they weren't going to hire us, or it was their way of showing they're a "fun" company. Overall, the interview felt a bit misleading because they told me they really liked me, but then I got an email several hours later with a rejection. To their credit, though, they did respond with a rejection rather than just ghosting me.
- Can you explain your motivation for wanting to work here?
- Could you explain the following SQL query: SELECT user_name, user_isp FROM users LEFT JOIN isps USING (user_id)?
- What is the difference between FLOAT and DOUBLE data types?

I was reached out to by a recruiter for this job. I set up a quick call with them and then moved on to a phone interview with a manager. I should have known this wasn't going to be a professional experience when the recruiter misspelled the manager's name. At the scheduled time, no one called me. I emailed the recruiter and didn't hear back until the next day after the manager ghosted on me. When I finally spoke to the manager, he was apologetic and kind and I thought we were past an unlucky hurdle. I was invited to an on-site interview. It was again with the manager and with an engineer. The first part went well. I came prepared with an analysis of the site and went over it with him. The next part of the interview was supposed to be with the engineer, but he was sick so it was with someone else, who, again, was 15 minutes late to my on-site interview. I was sitting in a room waiting because he was on another call. I was supposed to have a third virtual interview with the engineer who was out of the office that day. We just had to work out a time. So I went home with 2/3 of the interview completed. I emailed everyone thank you notes and asked the manager to let me know what the engineer's availability was so that we could chat. Well, unsurprisingly, no one got back to me. No one responded to my emails. No one reached out with a formulaic rejection email. For all I know, I'm still in the running for this position because I was supposed to speak to one more person. This has been the most unprofessional interview experience I have ever had. Don't apply here because your time is not valuable to this company.
