Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Polaris.
Mechanical Engineer
When interviewing with Polaris, they typically aren't searching for the most seasoned folks and often seek experience in niche areas. Without that, it can be hard to stand out amongst the crowd. It really depends on the specific job openings and their focus. That's a good place to start to get ready for an interview. They also ask the usual 'what's your favorite Polaris vehicle?'
- Can you share an instance where your interpersonal skills were severely tested?
- Tell me about your favorite Polaris vehicle.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
Polaris came to our University Career Fair back in October. I hadn't heard anything until early December, then they wanted to do a phone interview. The first interview was pretty basic, just a few situational questions, but mostly they wanted to get a feel for me. They asked about my hobbies and free time activities, my hands-on abilities, what I knew about their company, and if I'd had any prior experience with their product. It was an easy interview. It was a conference call with an Associate Engineer asking the questions, and others were in the background taking notes. A few weeks later, they called to schedule a second interview. This was also a conference call, where two engineers talked about the specific internship projects I'd be doing. It was very basic.
- Can you tell me what makes you unique compared to other candidates for this role?
- Could you share some information about your hobbies and interests?
Mechanical Engineer
the interview process is still on-going; it feels so far everything goes fine. I have only made several phone calls, the HR sounds very nice and friendly. have not been asked any difficult question yet. several questions been raised from my resume, fairly easy to answer. The process seems a bit slow but within a understandable scale.
- Apart from personal information, no hard questions have been asked yet as the recruiting process is still ongoing.
