First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Point72.
Software Engineer Intern
The process kicked off with a HackerRank assessment, which also included a Math OA. Later on, there was a Superday with two 30-minute rounds, covering both behavioral and technical aspects. It's important that your resume is strong and matches the role requirements. You should be able to talk about your resume and know your DSA, plus understand your coding OA solutions.
- Can you walk me through your past experiences?
Software Engineer Intern
The issue is that you don't know the entire hiring process until you get the HR call. This internship position alone has 6 stages. This includes a coding test, HR call, team call, a take-home test (which has a 48-hour deadline), a presentation call, and an onsite interview. My interview times were rescheduled twice without any reason given. I was rejected, and they said they'd give feedback at the end, which I expected but never got. It was unprofessional to reschedule this rejection call as well.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at Point 72?
Software Engineer
Interviews were ok - 3 stages - 2 technical and one HR interview. The company was not clear about the interview process, for example I got the phone call they are writing my offer letter and then they added the HR interview. In the end it was a waste of time, I stated from the beginning my desired salary, I was informed it is in the budget. I then repeated the expectation during the interview with the TL, who stated that should not be a problem. I passed all stages and afterwards got an offer that was less than my current income and with way worse benefits (I was clear from the beginning I am only interested in a change for financial reasons).
- A lot of t-SQL related questions.
- General programming questions.
- OOP questions.
