First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Point Park University.
Alumni Relations
The interview was a video call with the department head. The interviewer was relaxed and kind. It was conversational yet informative and lasted about 45 minutes. I had the chance to ask questions and they provided clear, concise info about the role and expectations, as well as the department's future goals.
- Could you share some details about your background and yourself?

There were two interviews, one with the manager and assistant manager, and then a second with other members of the department. It felt like a pretty standard interview overall. I mainly talked about my previous experience. I did get the sense that some aspects of the office culture at Point Park might have been presented a bit more positively than reality, but I guess that's expected in interviews.
- Who would you be if you could choose to be anyone?
Admissions Counselor
I applied online and got a super fast response. No phone interview, but I did go in for an on-campus interview, which was pretty much just a chat. Nobody showed me around the office. Even the office assistant didn't introduce herself when I went back to the office after my interview and to do the background check paperwork.
- Tell me what you know about Point Park.
Director
The interview process took five weeks and had four steps. It started with a phone interview, followed by a panel interview with people from different departments, experience levels, and expertise. Then, there was an interview with the Dean and Vice President, and finally, an interview with the President of the University. The interview team had a positive culture and their priority was hiring the best candidate for the students, which was different from the overall University culture.
- What would be your approach to managing a student with unrealistic expectations?
- How would you handle communication with the public and the local community?
