Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Podium.
Sales
Had a few rounds of interview. To me, these are the most important questions everyone needs to know.
- What is your background?
- What motivates your interest in this company?
- Can you share an experience where you handled a challenging sales objection?
Sales
I went through 4 interviews. The first two were phone calls with two different interviewers, and they went well. After that, I had an in-person interview which was not as pleasant. They mostly asked me to recap my past jobs, detailing my responsibilities and reasons for leaving. They didn't ask about my interest in the company, my qualifications, or how I would succeed there, which was surprising given their emphasis on culture. The final interview with the director was very uncomfortable; he seemed disengaged, doodling throughout, and I felt I didn't get a fair chance to present myself. Despite the recruiter sending company info to prepare for the in-person interviews, none of it was used.
- Can you walk me through your resume chronologically, detailing your roles, what you learned, and your reasons for leaving each position?
Sales
The interview process is lengthy, but worth it. Podium is going to be one of the fastest growing companies in Utah and they are making sure that they dont hire people aren't willing to build a great company. The founders like to meet with everyone that they hire which I enjoyed. Gives you the ability to chat with them on what they are looking for and what they are trying to build. They are very open and transparent with their employees.
- What motivates you?
